Come and celebrate the launch by Earth Recordings of 'Film Music’, a deluxe 3LP / 3CD box set of music by Mikael Tariverdiev, the composer of the soundtracks to the iconic Soviet films Goodbye Boys (До свидания, мальчики), Seventeen Moments of Spring (Семьнадцать мгновений весны) and The Irony of Fate (Ирония судьбы), the first major release of this work in the West. Stephen Coates and Alex Kan discuss Mikael’s life and work with live performances by Russian singer Daria Kulesha and pianist Marina Osman. On show will be a selection of film clips and many unseen images taken by photographer Paul Heartfield in the Tariverdiev apartment including Mikael’s own previously unseen shots of sets from various films he worked on.
